The chubby chernobyl platform is pattern that speaks for itself. In creating this fly I, haven't invented anything new- my approach was to optimize and tweak this bug to make it better than your average fly shop chubby in a number of ways.
The blends of dubbing used on the body of each fly is relatively light for imitating salmonfly adults, allowing customization. It has a UV flash to it, and really lights up when you get it wet. The dubbing and foam can easily be colored with a black, brown, orange, or red sharpie to achieve different colors (which I highly recommend).
Double stacked foam on the salmonfly increases the buoyancy and durability of this bug and helps it keep dropper rigs floating. The golden is lower profile, perfect for skipping under overhanging branches.
The dark, realistic wing is much more subtle and natural than white; I have found large, wary trout to be more willing to eat it than the traditional white wing.
The glow foam tab allows you to use this bug in the late evening and into the night when big trout eating stoneflies are often very active.
